Designed for a group of 15 luxury interior designers, mostly from the United States with a few from Europe, this 3-day tour in Porto offers a deep introduction to Portuguese furniture making.
The program includes visits to a curated selection of luxury furniture makers, each showcasing distinct savoir-faire, along with moments dedicated to discovering the city’s rich culture and architecture.

Introduction to the creation of collectible furniture with French emerging artisans

For a group of 10 luxury interior designers from the United States, London, and beyond, this 2-day program will explore how collectible furniture is conceived and brought to life in collaboration with emerging French artisans.
Participants will meet a new generation of makers and experience firsthand the creative process behind collectible furniture design and production in Paris.

HISTORY OF PRIVATE TOURS

2025 – Specialty finishes for millwork design, Paris.

With 2 English designers, we visited 10 decorative artisans directly in their Parisian workshops to discover their exceptional savoir-faire and specialty finishes applicable to master dressing rooms, kitchens, and bespoke millwork.
We explored straw marquetry, traditional lacquer with gold and mother-of-pearl, pewter countertops, feather marquetry, parchment, shagreen, upholstery, leaded and eglomisé glass, engraved and gilded glass, and brass component engineering for frames, pivot hinges, and handles.
The tour also included a meeting with a renowned artist specialized in decorative painting.

2025 – Workshop visits in Porto, Portugal.

During 2 intensive tours in the Porto region, one of the largest furniture manufacturing cluster in the World, we visited and assessed 22 furniture workshops. These visits provided an in-depth understanding of Portuguese furniture making and highlighted a wide range of savoir-faire applicable to high-end residential projects.
The program included workshops specializing in wood, marble, brass and cast bronze, upholstery, fiberglass and liquid finishes, and mixed-material furniture, offering a comprehensive view of the local craft and production techniques for creating both high-end and budget-friendly furniture pieces.

2025 – Artisans d’Excellence exhibition, Palais de la Porte Dorée, Paris.

Together with 2 English designers, we explored the Artisans d’Excellence exhibition, where 45 decorative artisans showcased their craft. Our focus was on creators whose savoir-faire applies to millwork and wall paneling.
We discovered marble marquetry, gilded décors, hand-embroidered panels, glass marquetry, leather applications, feather marquetry, lacquer with eggshell, sandblasted glass, and heliogravure.

2025 – Visiting 6 millwork workshops in the Paris region.

Accompanying an English client, we toured 6 millwork workshops specialized in luxury residential projects across the USA, Switzerland, and Asia.
These visits included workshops focused on French boiseries, interior doors, master dressing rooms, kitchens, and complex architectural millwork.

2024 – Visiting 6 millwork workshops in the Nantes region.

With an English client, we visited 6 millwork workshops working on prestigious projects such as private residences, super-yachts, five-star hotels, and luxury retail spaces.
